Elsie Scarf by  Katrine Hannibal at Önling I modified this pattern as I went along on a whim... Here is what I used/did. Went up a needle size from pattern  (4.5mm) 1 Skein of DK Weight yarn.  I knit in pattern until I ran out stopping at the end of Row 8 on a right side row. Then I held two strands of fingering together (a golden brown and a rusty red I had leftover from another project) and knit the WS BUT *** keeping to the pattern for the outside 4 stitches to continue the icord edge from here on out.... Then continued to work Stockinette on the RS for 6 rows or so.  Depending on how many stitches you end with, you will need to do some math to calculate where your buttonholes go. I had 62 stitches... I had 7 stitches at each end, and 6 sets of 8 stitches (giving me 6 buttonholes) SO... Continuing with the icord edges on both ends, on the RS I began to create a cabled button hole. I knit 7, Knit 6 (cabled the next 4 stitches, by dropping two in front) knit ...

Songbird Sweater Vintage Pattern bought on Etsy: https://www.etsy.com/listing/1628648950 This is my first bottom up sweater. I followed the pattern for size 14-16 (there were only 4 sizes available)   with modifications listed below.  Lengthened the body and sleeves to fit.  Very happy with fit of sleeves/increase ratio.   Modifications to bird pattern - the original was too busy for me.  Will post below. Boat neckline was a bit stretchy and cast off did not give same border as hem and sleeve cuffs.  Added a slip stitch around the top in contrast color with a small crochet hook to firm up.  It now doesnt stretch and therefore fall off my shoulder when I wear it.  (Alpaca/Merino blend yarn used.)

Monday Sweater by PetiteKnits I saw this sweater at the Autumn Fiber Festival 2024 (Mansfield, OH) on a manniquin and immediately went into Northwood Fibers booth and promptly purchased the six skeins of their indie dyed yarn to make my own. 😂 Below are my notes on how I calculated my fades etc.  They have since added a kit to their website - you can find yours here:   https://northwoodsfibers.com/products/mermaid-mayhem-fade-kit I will be buying from them again!

Extra Lite Bright Sweater by Wool & Pine Here we are at my next project.  I'm kinda surprised that we are back here again.  I had no intention of starting a real blog when I originally used this platform to record my notes for the Onling Rikke Sweater, but here we are. I promised myself 2025 was going to be a year of nothing but socks and sweaters.  This is my 6th sweater this year (I think there are enough planned/stashed sweater quantities for me to knit sweaters for another couple of years!) and this time it is a colorwork fade with fingering yarn. I am using three colors - my skeins I bought specially for this project are from Fiber Seed  - I opted for Sprout Sock fingering skeins that have 510 yards each - so three should be enough, I hope. I fell in love and purchased them at the last fiber festival I attended in Wooster, OH.  I have bought several skeins from them in the past and they are still sitting in my stash currently. So far, all the sweater co...
